Allison met the love of her life just one month after moving to LA. Four years later, her now husband, Michael, proposed and celebrated at their first date spot. When she described her relationship she said, “It felt like home.” Allison and Michael’s stunning South Carolina wedding, as seen on Over the Moon.

Allison and Michael chose Charleston as their wedding destination. Originally from the Midwest, Allison grew up visiting the South and wanted her family to be close but still have that destination wedding experience. The couple felt a connection to Charleston’s southern charm. The picturesque landscapes, majestic wildlife, and beautiful Kiawah River were the perfect backdrop for the wedding.

Anderson Event Design and Festoon Florals worked closely with Allison to curate a romantic wedding that embraced the authentic Southern charm while incorporating West Coast elements. They embraced the Lowcountry aesthetic with lots of pinks and blues to represent the sunsets and beautiful bodies of water like the Kiawah River.

Kelly at Over the Moon assisted Allision with her looks at the ceremony and reception. Allison walked down the aisle in a traditional yet elevated Amsale dress. It had everything she was looking for: classic, elegant, and timeless. They paired this with pearl earrings, white Manolo Blahnik heels, and an Alexandra Grecco veil. For the reception, Allison customized her own Danielle Frankel dress.

Allison has always loved vintage shopping and antiquing, so incorporating locally sourced antiques into the decor was very important. She spent months curating special pieces leading up to the wedding, and now, many of them have a place in her home as reminders of this special day.

The custom bar was thoughtfully designed with vintage finds, carefully chosen to complement the Lowcountry wedding aesthetic. Each piece reflected the couple’s personality, adding joy and meaning to their celebration.
