Art class was hands down my favorite subject growing up. I secretly loved indoor recess because it meant instead of running around outside, I could stay inside and paint, or draw, or just create. Even then, during the childhood phase of "I can do anything when I grow up, so I want to be a princess", being an artist seemed too impractical to cross my mind. What I did know is that I wanted to follow a business path- lemonade stands were my jam and I loved to play restaurant and fine tune my customer service and entrepreneurial skills. Although, I will say that endeavor quickly failed- there is not a huge demand for plastic food, and my marketing department was atrocious. Overall, I knew what I wanted deep down.... but I could never dream up the reality that started to come into play a decade later.
I was sixteen and at this point, I had narrowed down my art focus into photography. I was getting the hang of the technical side of things- how to master light, manually expose, pose, and compose. It was also when I was sixteen when I started photographing seniors and my first wedding. It was sometime then that there was this moment of "I'm pretty sure this is what I should be doing with my life".
Fast forward a couple years later. My name is Meghan Baskin. I am a portrait and wedding photographer based out Philadelphia. I have a passion for serving others. I have a passion for telling stories through photography, and I aim to do so with flawless technical precision. I love what I do with an unrelenting passion. I'm so glad you're here to read my story, and I'd love to help tell yours.
